The depth chart now lists Gardner Minshew II at quarterback over Jacoby Brissett, and Tyler Allgeier has led the Cardinals' backs in snaps the last two weeks, for reasons that aren't clear. Claim Allgeier first: he's unrostered in more than half of ESPN leagues, and we'd start his red-zone work at FLEX right away.
Receipts
Michael Penix Jr. (ATL), hold. We said add him in Week 6, and he answered with 23.1 points. Hit. Last week's 2.1 on 24 attempts stung, but put the phone down: he's taken 99% of Atlanta's snaps since returning, and one dud doesn't erase that role. Hold him in superflex.
Cade Otton (TB), drop. Same call, same week: 0.9 points. Miss. He played 95% of Tampa Bay's snaps last week and drew zero targets, after one the week before. All snaps, no looks. Let him go.
Top claims
Allgeier (ARI, RB): add, we'd bid 15 to 20 percent of your budget. Arizona lists him as its No. 2 back, and most of his season looked like it: 5.7 points a game outside last week's explosion. Don't claim him for the 33.6 points. We can't tell why that game happened. Claim him for the role. He plays 52% of the snaps with 11.8 opportunities a game, and his 17 red-zone looks are the work that scores. Last week he turned 59% of the snaps into 16 opportunities. Arizona visits Seattle in the late window with Minshew newly listed as the starter, and we'd play Allgeier at FLEX. Cut Austin Ekeler (WAS) for him. What changes the order: in superflex, Darnold goes first.
Darnold (SEA, QB): add, we'd bid 5 to 10 percent in one-QB leagues, 20 or more in superflex. The opening stretch is why he's rostered in under a third of ESPN leagues. Darnold played 10% of Seattle's snaps in Week 1 and missed Week 2 with a glute injury. Darnold has started every game since. Darnold averages 30.1 pass attempts and 14.5 half-PPR points a game. Last week he threw 34 times for two touchdowns and 18.5 points. Seattle hosts Arizona, so claim him and Allgeier and you get to root for both sides of one late game. Cut Daniel Jones (IND) for him. What flips it: if you'd rather have a rushing floor, Malik Willis (MIA) goes ahead. His 5.1 rushes a game carry 15.2 points a game. We'd take Darnold first only for the passing volume.
Malik Washington (MIA, WR): add, we'd bid 8 to 12 percent. Washington played 85% of the snaps with 8.4 opportunities a game before Weeks 7 and 8. His usage dipped once Douglas came back, but he still tops Miami's depth chart with a 23% target share across the season. A knee injury put him on the report before last week's game. He practiced fully and played 74% of the snaps anyway. Six targets became five catches and a touchdown. Miami hosts Detroit. Cut Jauan Jennings (MIN) for him. What changes the order: if Douglas misses time again, we'd claim Washington ahead of Darnold.
Adds by position
QB: Willis (MIA), add. He's played every Miami snap this season, and 5.1 rushes a game give him a floor most streamers don't have.
TE: AJ Barner (SEA), add. He's an every-down tight end on 88% of Seattle's snaps with 4.3 targets a game, and he's rostered in 7.8% of ESPN leagues.
Stashes
Mike Washington Jr. (LV, RB), stash. Mike Washington Jr. played 60% of the snaps with 25 carries last week. He played 20% of the snaps before Weeks 7 and 8. Why he jumped is unclear. If he holds a share near that 60% for another game, we'd start him at FLEX.
Zonovan Knight (ARI, RB), stash. Arizona lists him third, but he's played 38% of the snaps over the last two weeks, second among its backs. If Allgeier misses time, we'd expect Knight to inherit most of that work.
Antonio Williams (WAS, WR), stash. With Treylon Burks questionable, Williams played 83% of the snaps last week and drew seven targets. If Burks sits, we'd use Williams as a FLEX.
Minshew (ARI, QB), stash in superflex. Arizona now lists him as its starter over Brissett. Give us one full game as the starter and we'd start him in superflex. One-QB leagues can pass.
Drops
Cut Jones (IND) for Darnold. Indianapolis gave Jones a multi-year deal, so the job is his. The points aren't. His 33.5 attempts a game produce 10.0 points a game. Darnold turns 30.1 attempts into 14.5. Jones scored 8.5 last week.
Cut Jennings (MIN) for Malik Washington. Jennings' snaps fell to 55% once Jordan Addison returned, and he sees 1.7 targets a game. Washington played 74% of the snaps last week and owns a 23% target share.
Cut Ekeler (WAS) for Allgeier. Ekeler is a change-of-pace back: 20% of the snaps, 5.3 opportunities a game. Allgeier plays 52% of the snaps with 11.8 opportunities.
Thomas is down to 44% of the snaps and 3.1 targets a game. Barner plays 88% of Seattle's snaps and draws 4.3 targets a game.
